Discuss the building of an Arkology (defined as an entire city in one building) in WNY. Learn of the lifestyle and cost and energy efficiencies of this type of building, as well as the benefits of high-density fully 3D cities. Building these cities will become increasingly important as our fossil fuel reserves run lower and lower.
Free educational documentary available, as well as a new constitution (in development for 7 years), multiple books (for sale) and more!
These cities are modular and can be expanded to house as little as 15 people, up to 150,000 people.
Meet at the tables by the bakery. I will be there with some books.
From one of the books, explaining the efficiencies:

Something not seen in these photographs is the transport efficiency. Golf carts are 1/10th the energy of an internal combustion engine SUV, and with Arkologies having on average 36 times the density, this results in 36^0.5 or 6x shorter commutes. 1/10 times 1/6 = 1 / 60th transportation energy. Factor in a two day work week and you have 60 x 2.5 = 1 / 150th the transportation energy.
Then we have thermal efficiencies. Due to shared walls, shared floors, and the massive singular structure, the ratio of external surface area to internal volume is SIXTEEN times greater than the same ratio of suburban homes. Meaning an Arkology uses 1/16th the energy to heat and cool, and requires 1/16th the material to insulate. If we double the insulation of the structure, it would require 1/32nd of the energy to heat and cool when compared to suburban homes – ONLY 3% of the energy!
