It's Time to Ride The Buff!!! Buffalo Creek Is on the Menu!

Details

Well, it is time to do Buffalo Creek. We will get an early'ish start, rolling as close to 9a as possible. Nice Kitty will be the first trail to the the top, then decision time: Little Scraggy or right over to Shingle Mill? We'll see how everyone is feeling. One way or the other, we will do Shingle Mill!

At the bottom of Shingle Mill we'll have another decision: Baldy or Gashouse? The two are climbs and almost identical in elevation and distance. It will be a game time decision. Once on top there are some connector trails but we are aiming for the grin inducing down hill of Sandy Wash.

Depending on what we do the ride will be between 22 - 32 miles. The key is fitness, and trail food will help. Bring some nutrition. If you're going, don't make plans to be back in the Springs early. This ride will take between 4 - 6 hours depending on the trails we choose and the pace. The pace will be "Social". We will stop at all major intersections and we will not drop anyone. That being said, there are plenty of bail out points that will get you back to the parking lot if you need them.

Helmets are a must. Body armor is always a good idea. Bring sufficient water and trail food. This ride is a lot of fun and not overly difficult but it is "Big". Also, at the starting parking lot, cell phone reception is essentially non-existent. If you are running behind we will wait a little bit but then we are off. Be aware, parking can fill up fast so it's not a bad idea to be there early.
