You may know this pattern. You may be able to name it. You may have set boundaries and done the work, and still, in the quiet moments, it is there. The guilt after saying no. The shrinking when you want to be seen.
The feeling that your worth is in what you do for everyone else.Because this runs deeper than your childhood. Deeper than what you watched the women in your life do. This is an underlying current, running in the background, without ever being truly noticed. It was passed down from our great-great-grandmothers, for survival and safety.
A woman had to be agreeable to be protected. She had to please to be chosen. Her purpose was not her own. It was to bring an heir, to raise a child to make a man proud, to keep the peace at any cost.
That belief lives in our bodies still, even though we have fought against it, even though we disagree with it today.
That is why I am hosting Jen Wende at Espace Belong, here in Greenfield Park. Jen has guided women through this ancestral work for over fifteen years. She does not work on the surface of the pattern. She listens and speaks to the ancestors; she moves the energy, and she helps us release a story that was never ours, with ease. Then, through gentle somatic movement, she grounds the real you back into your body, so you can stop moving unconsciously through life, and start reflecting more of yourself.
