Opt Outside with Friends & Family & WeWiN: Hike the Violet Crown Trail
Details
Grab your partner, kids, friends or come alone and join WeWiN as we once again participate in REI's Opt Outside program. REI closes it's doors on Black Friday on what is known to be one of the top retail shopping days in the US, giving their 14,000+ employees a paid holiday for the tenth year and encouraging customers to spend time with family and friends in Nature!
This year we will gather at the 290/360 entrance to the Violet Crown Trail runs through much of, but not entirely within, the Barton Creek Greenbelt. It starts at the Zilker access point down to Hwy 290 in Sunset Valley, connecting to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and eventually into Hays County.
The trail features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels.
Nature provides the perfect backdrop to unplug from the hustle, ground into the stillness, bask in gratitude and open our minds and hearts to awe, wonder and transcendence. Can you think of a better setting to prioritize self-care, move our bodies, and connect with others and the natural world?
Meet at Barton Creek Greenbelt Access Loop 360 (3755 S. Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX). We will be covering 2-3 miles of terrain at a slow to moderate pace with some sections of rocks and dirt. The change in elevation is less than 300 feet.
**** Well-behaved dogs are welcome on-leash. ****
