Making Every Word Count - Workshop

Do your words make an impact?
You can craft a strong message that speaks to your clients whether you’re an experienced writer or someone who struggles to write at all. To do this, you’ll need clear and effective copy. Less is more: your clients don’t have any time for fluff, so let’s make every word count. During this workshop, you’ll receive tips on writing and how to self-edit your text to ensure it’s clear, concise and engaging. You’ll learn:

• How to structure a text to keep your clients engaged
• How to keep your text to the point
• Common writing mistakes and how to avoid them

About the speaker:
Lisa Davis is a children’s book editor and publishing consultant specialising in picture books. She began her freelance business in October 2018 after working for almost a decade at various publishing houses in London. She now works with aspiring authors, corporate organisations and international publishers to help them gain understanding of the publishing industry and create books that kids will love reading. Her editing work includes writing sales pitches, keeping entire stories under 500 words and summing up a book in a single sentence. She will help you make your text shine and – more importantly – help you feel more confident about your writing.
