WiBD Spring Hackathon 2024 Closing Session

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of Women in Big Data’s Spring Hackathon 2024.

Please join us to celebrate three WiBD Chapters as we host the closing session to hear about their journeys and learning experiences.

This season our teams addressed a crucial social challenge: predicting metastatic cancer diagnoses within 90 days of screening. The Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide 2024 Datathon hosted on Kaggle provides the platform for the WiBD hackathon teams to make a difference with real-world data from Gilead Sciences.

Come, hear from our Chapter Hackathon Leaders Anat Zohar (Bay Area Chapter), Aruna Nadesan (Pittsburgh Chapter), and Usha Ramalingam (St Louis Chapter) and Team Leaders Sanja Damjanovic, Ph.D., Amina Wasiq and Kirthi Venkatesh.

They mentored their teams who enhanced their technical skills, formed strong networks across teams and gained leadership and collaboration experience.

In this discussion, our panel of teams will share their experiences of working on the Kaggle challenge, tackling the challenges they faced, and achieving their goals.
