This session provides a clear, hands-on walkthrough of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), starting with the core constructs and moving toward scalable, federated models. We’ll cover how IAM Identity Centre integrates with external identity systems, how IAM roles and short-lived credentials enforce the principle of least privilege, and how Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) adds granular control.
Through live demonstrations and real-world examples, you’ll discover practical approaches to designing access that is secure, adaptable, and aligned with modern enterprise identity architecture.

Roya is a seasoned technology professional with over a decade of experience as a software engineer, complemented by expertise in account management and customer success, managing multi-million-dollar portfolios. With a strong academic foundation — a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master’s in Screenwriting — she combines technical depth with creative problem-solving skills.
Passionate about cloud technologies and security, she recently completed a Certificate IV in Cyber Security and a 6-month cloud computing bootcamp, earning her Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification. She continues to expand her knowledge across both Azure and AWS platforms and is excited to share insights from her in-depth exploration of AWS’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) with you at the session.
