What we’re about
đź’« Women in Data Mentorship Alliance (WDMA)
Building community, confidence, and careers through the power of data. From simply surviving to truly thriving.
About the Group
This isn’t a class; it’s a community.
And yes, it’s completely free.
Right now, it’s just me, one woman whose life changed for the better by learning how to work with data. I’m creating this community to help bring that same opportunity to other women, and my hope is to grow it into a strong network of mentors, teachers, and learners who support one another through every stage of growth. Together, we’ll learn, share, and build confidence through data and technology that open doors to career opportunities, independence, and empowerment.
I’m the founder and CEO of SeraphicGuardian, a data solutions company committed to making data more equitable.
This community group is my way of giving back, a safe, supportive space where women can discover how learning data can transform both their lives and careers.
The Women in Data Mentorship Alliance (WDMA) is for women ready to reset, rebuild, or rediscover themselves. Maybe you’re craving a career change, more flexibility, or simply something that makes you feel excited again, or perhaps for the first time. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn data or tech but thought you couldn’t.
Here, you can. No matter your path, every woman is welcomed and accepted exactly as she is, where she is. You don’t need experience, money, or credentials. Just curiosity and the courage to show up.
Who it’s for:
âś… Moms - stay-at-home, single, working, widowed, or re-entering the workforce
✅ Women told (or telling themselves) it’s too late, too hard, or too expensive to start over
âś… Women rebuilding after loss, burnout, or big life changes
âś… Women balancing multiple jobs or family responsibilities
âś… Retired women, students, or lifelong learners
âś… Women without a GED, college degree, or those hoping to return to school
✅ ESL learners — I’ll do my best to find translators so language is never a barrier
âś… Any woman craving purpose, growth, or a genuine sense of community đź’™
How It Works:
We’ll start small with a series of friendly, hands-on sessions where we learn, share, and grow together.
As our community grows, we’ll probably want to organize small breakout circles, mentorship teams, and themed workshops so everyone can learn at their own pace and still feel personally supported. However, I want to remain completely flexible and open to each person's unique needs and learning preferences. If something isn't working, let's figure out a way to adjust.
I’ll teach the data skills that can truly change your life, including how to:
💰 Use data to make money or build a business — if you have a business idea, let’s explore how data can help bring it to life.
🧠Use data to research personal health — learn to find patterns, ask better questions, and make informed choices.
📊 Analyze and interpret data to make confident decisions in work and life.
🗂️ Build simple databases and data visualizations to organize information and see insights clearly.
đź“„ Pull/Extract data from PDFs, CSVs, or other file types easily with automation and turn it into something useful.
When new topics arise, we’ll learn them together or invite someone to teach. As the community grows, members can share what they’ve learned, big or small. One week we might learn to organize a budget in excel spreadsheets and use pivot tables; another, build and explore databases, data automation, or security analysis.
Whether it’s a spark of curiosity or a problem you’ve been trying to solve, no matter how big or small, data can help. This community is here to help you use data to tackle real-life challenges, grow your ideas, and create solutions that improve your life.
Our Goal
To make learning real, flexible, and empowering. You don’t need a degree or permission to be part of the data world, your perspective and experience already belong here.
It’s time to redefine success on your own terms. It’s time to invest in you. 💙
Disclaimer on Location and Resource Access Support
Location and distance can be major factors in whether someone is willing or able to attend. I’ll do my best to host sessions in a variety of places throughout the Raleigh area, including nearby cities such as Durham, Chapel Hill, and Garner. If you have suggestions for accessible, safe, and welcoming locations, please reach out.
If laptop access, childcare, transportation, or other support would help you participate, let me know. I am reaching out to community partners for resources and will share what we secure to reduce barriers and help us meet, learn, and grow together.
