Lauren Langdell - Host and Chair, Founder
Lauren is the Founder and Global Director of Women in DevOps. She has been recruiting in the DevOps space since 2014, nurturing over eight years of recruitment experience hiring DevOps and SRE engineers and managers for the globe's best brands and most innovative startups.
Lauren founded Women in DevOps in 2017 – it started out as a small tech meet-up for like-minded female engineers, and it has since grown into an offline and online community of over 6,000 individuals, all of whom are passionate about inspiring and empowering women in DevOps globally.
When Lauren isn’t working you can find her somewhere with a cheeseboard, a glass of red, and a pack of Uno cards!

Nicola McDonnell - Senior Manager, Software Development
Nix studied Science at Trinity College Dublin, specialising in Chemistry In her first job post-college, she worked in a small company in the USA sitting next to the “Computer Guy”. Getting to know his job inspired her to apply for a Masters in Computer Science in Queens University Belfast where she graduated top of her class. This led to a role in Customer Support at a young Irish Startup, Iona Technologies. Within a year she had transitioned to a Software Engineer role.

When the Tech Crash of 2002 hit, she moved to Scotland to study Video Games Development at the University of Abertay, again graduating top of her class. Her skills in 3D Graphics landed her her first Computational Science role at the University of Edinburgh where she built models of monkey and rat brains to aid in Brain Research. The university environment suited her and this led to over twelve years doing and later managing research primarily focused on High-Performance Computing in Edinburgh and the University of Galway. In 2016, she returned to an Industry role, joining Workday as a Manager where she has remained for the last seven years. She is an advocate for supporting females in Tech. She is involved with Workday initiatives such as Future Females in Tech and DARE.

Bernie Foley - Senior Director, Product Management
Bernie Foley is Product Management leader in Workdays oCHRO product global team with responsibility for Workdays HCM product, leading teams in Europe and the US.

Bernie is based in our Dublin office and had been with Workday 5 ½ years. Since joining Workday, Bernie has led our Dublin Recruiting product investment, and more recently, is responsible for the success of our global HCM product investments. Focusing on, driving and leading product development, delivering innovative product across all markets particularly for our Customers' oCHRO is top of her daily priority list.

Prior to joining Workday, Bernie worked as a Product Management and Technology leader with over 30 years’ experience in global financial services organizations.

Laís Carvalho - Software Developer Engineer
Lais’ journey with Workday started around 3 years ago, with the Future Females in Tech program. Then, she met Nicola McDonnell as part of a mentorship program for college students. Recently, Lais has joined Workday as a Software Developer Engineer under the Generation Workday, the company’s graduate program.
Lais is active in the Python Community organizing events and supporting projects which bring inclusion and diversity into the tech world. Ever since 2020, Lais has been a part of a non-profit organization that organizes workshops focusing on lowering the entry barrier for underrepresented minorities in Python and Data Science.

Prior to joining Workday, Lais worked as a developer advocate for years, where she promoted Open Source software and coding best practices.
