Infra Roundtable (2021 Wrap-up!)

Details

Let's chat about what we've learned in 2021, and what we're excited about in 2022! Our goal is to provide a space for folks to get to know each other, network, and learn from experts in the group. We'll break out into small groups on different topics, moderated by our hosts.

For this roundtable, we're excited to be joined by:

Uma Chingunde, VP of Engineering at Render
Uma heads engineering at Render and until recently led the Compute team at Stripe that supported the internal compute platform within Stripe’s Infrastructure organization. Prior to Stripe, she was an engineering leader at Delphix and VMware.

Lita Cho, Co-founder and CTO at Moment
Lita Cho is the co-founder and CTO of Moment Technologies (https://moment.dev), a programmable workspace for developers to centralize your workflows and share them with your team. She is excited about using developer tooling to make knowledge sharing easier in organizations. Before Moment, she was a Staff Engineer at Lyft focusing on Application-Level Networking and Service Meshes, and Dreamworks Animation creating tools for artists.

Jean Yang, Founder and CEO at Akita Software
Jean Yang (@jeanqasaur) is the founder and CEO of Akita Software, building towards one-click observability. Previously, Jean was a professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Jean co-founded Graduate Women at MIT as a PhD student at MIT.

Vicki Cheung, Co-founder and CTO at Gantry
Vicki leads engineering at Gantry, working on bringing software engineering lessons to ML infrastructure and making ML in production less scary! Previously, she managed the Compute team at Lyft, and was a founding engineer at OpenAI and Duolingo.

Please submit or vote for any discussion topics you're interested in at https://app.sli.do/event/xxm0tast. During the event, you'll be able to choose your breakout group based on themes, and our guest moderators will use the submitted ideas to guide the discussion.

We'll be meeting on Gather Town, a virtual event space where attendees can move around and join different conversations. You can read more about using the tool here https://support.gather.town/help/movement-and-basics.

This event is for you if you identify as a woman, genderqueer or non-binary, and are interested in infrastructure.
