Test Driven Development Workshop by Anisha Ramnani
The Test Driven Development workshop provides an overview of automated testing and walks through a few examples of test driven development. The goal of the workshop is to focus on the basics of test driven development and give audience members the chance to collaborate with other meet up attendees.
Anisha joined VTS as a software engineer earlier this year in January. Before that, she worked as a software engineer at a typography firm for three years. She’s a graduate of the Flatiron School and Bard College. She likes to read fiction, attend comedy shows, and dance around her apartment.
Intro to Atomic Design in Storybook by Anne Zhou
The talk will focus on what atomic design is and how you can use this design system to modularize and build scalable, consistent components. It will also cover how to get started with Storybook and how you can use the concept of atomic design in Storybook components with React.
Anne is a Frontend Engineer at Spring Health, a mental health startup. She worked in digital marketing before transitioning to development, and is a graduate of the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and eating.

We created the Women in Software Engineering (WiSE) Speaker Series to highlight the accomplishments of successful women engineers, and to connect women aspiring to be software engineers to mentors and peers.
The WiSE series is produced by Codesmith in an effort to improve the diversity gap in tech by collaborating with leading tech companies through mentorship and scholarship opportunities for women pursuing a software engineering education at Codesmith.
Every month, we will bring the best speakers and mentors to an interested audience on topics ranging from career advice for women in tech to the latest JavaScript and web technologies. Following presentations and Q&A, we will provide a space to chat and network over refreshments.
**If you are interested in speaking at an upcoming WiSE meetup, please contact jenny@codesmith.io
