Women in STEAM - Central Oregon

Women in STEAM are getting CRAFTY! We're also getting into the Kentucky Derby spirit! If you are so inclined, bring a craft project (or don't, it's 100% optional) to Rachel's clubhouse on May 2nd for some crafting, noshing, socializing, hat coutour and horse race watching (but really we're people and hat watching...those HATS!!).

Partners and kids are invited to join in!

Everyone is encouraged to wear their best derby hat (feel free to bring a hat and some items to add to it as your craft).

There will also be some craft supplies provided in case you don't think you're going to craft but the spirit grabs you once you're there.

The clubhouse has ample space for crafting as well as a game room (BIG TVs, cornhole, tabletop shuffleboard, gaming console hook-up). Bring some snacky food/drink to share (does NOT have to be homemade, though that counts as a pre-accomplished craft...you overachiever you). The address will be sent to those who RSVP yes by 7pm Friday, May 1st.

We're going to try something new (well, at least Bet and I will and if you haven't yet, hopefully you will too) and play some Pickleball. There's a new place in town with rooftop courts and a rooftop bar. They also have food trucks for the sustenance.

We're going to rent a court for the first hour (5-6pm) and rotate people in and out who want to dink a ball for a bit. I'll bring my balls and paddles, bring yours too, and they also rent them for $5. If you don't want to play, you absolutely don't have to. Come socialize and laugh with (yes WITH) those of us that do.

If you're a serious Pickleballer, maybe you can come with some patience and an open heart and teach some of us...you probably don't want to count on competition (but someone might surprise you!).
