Women in Tech x Belfast Tech Week - National Record of Achievement Night!
As part of the upcoming Belfast Tech Week - Women in Tech Belfast presents: National Record of Achievement Night: What you and your teachers said you would do vs. what actually happened !
Join us for a tongue in cheek night, as you step back in time to relive your school days and your National Record of Achievement's predictions for your future.
The National Record of Achievement was a folder given to secondary school pupils in the UK in the 1990s and early 2000s. It was supposed to help you obtain your dream career - and contained all your curricular and extra-curricular achievements, and predictions about what you would become. We were told that these folders would be critical to all of our job interviews: no folder = no job. An interesting idea in theory but they were NEVER asked for - and now lie in dusty corners of our lofts.
Join us in a night of cringe - as we present an eminent panel of burgundy folder holders, talking about how things perhaps didn't quite go to plan!
Dig your own out of the loft and bring it along for some laughs.
Although this is a fun event designed mainly for networking purposes and to bring the community together in a light-hearted way, we do believe there is a serious point to make, in that not all paths will be straight-forward, and that women can still achieve a fantastic career within the tech sector, with a few twists and turns along the way!
The night will be held in the Oh Yeah Centre, Gordon Street - with a bar operating on the night. No food this time, so please eat before you get here!
