Generative AI: Unveiling the Evolution, Potential and Threats
Details
Join us for an enlightening panel discussion on the fascinating world of Generative AI, as we explore its evolution, potential, and the inherent challenges and threats it poses.
As artificial intelligence continues to advance, generative models have emerged as powerful tools capable of creating new content, such as text, images, and even music, that closely resemble human creations.
During the discussion, the panelists will share their insights on how generative models are revolutionizing creativity, enabling new forms of expression, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Whether you are an AI enthusiast, industry professional, academic researcher, or simply curious about the future of technology, this panel discussion will offer you valuable insights and inspire thought-provoking discussions about the role of Generative AI in shaping our world.
Note: The panel discussion will be interactive, allowing attendees to ask questions and engage with the panelists.
The panel speakers are:
- Anca Buiga (Ciurte) (HEITS Digital) is a Machine Learning scientist specializing in Computer Vision and NLP. With a PhD in Computer Science, she has a strong academic background and has worked on research and industrial projects in the field. Transitioning into the industry, she focuses on delivering AI projects, creating AI communities, and bringing state-of-the-art solutions to practical industry problems.
- Adriana Coroiu (UBB) is a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Babeș-Bolyai University, with expertise in the use of Artificial Intelligence, in general, and Machine Learning, in particular, for solving real-life problems in domains such as Medicine, Psychology, Education and Climate Change has 10 years of experience in research and teaching activities.
- Bogdan Bîndilă (Steelcase) is a Data Scientist specializing in Automated Machine Learning. After earning his bachelor's degree in Computer Science, he began working in the technology and manufacturing industries, developing Computer Vision and Deep Learning projects. At Steelcase, he focuses on solving business problems by using NLP, classical ML techniques, and building recommender systems.
- Cristi Ignat (Steelcase) has not followed the typical path to becoming a Data Scientist. He has a BSc and MSci degree in Astrophysics at University College London. It is during his Master’s project when he falls in love with AI, while working on a Deep Learning algorithm for detecting Extrasolar planets in images from Hubble. After graduating, he ”switched careers”, starting his Data Science journey working on ML solutions for Big Pharma companies. He is currently part of the Steelcase team in Cluj-Napoca.
