Description: Join us for our monthly Archery program at the Farm! This program will focus on teaching safety, proper shooting technique, and developing skills like focus, discipline, and self-confidence. At the beginning of the program, Ranger Rachel will emphasize safety and procedures before getting on the range and handling the equipment.

What to expect: After a very short walk through the woods (less than a half mile), archers will get to the EMBARC archery range. Participants will have the opportunity to shoot compound bows at targets from different distances. There will also be opportunities for contests and games.
Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Rachel
Where to meet: Upon entering the gate, turn left to follow the sign for "Archery Parking". Please follow the sign and park in the area in front of the red barn. After parking, follow the signs for Archery into the forest along the trail. There will be rainbow pinwheels marking the way to the range. It is about a five minute (a quarter of a mile) walk to the range.
What to bring: We encourage participants to bring their own folding chairs as there is limited seating available at the range. Please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Each participant MUST bring a reusable water bottle. We will have a large cooler of water to refill bottles. We will also have bug spray and sunscreen available.

Restrooms: The only bathroom is located at park head quarters on the other side of the park.
Recommended ages: This program content is only for AGES 19+. Other age groups have their own allotted time.
Weather contingency: This program will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Notice will be sent via email no later than one hour before the program.
Walking distance: Just under half of a mile to and from the range.
Exposure: This walk starts off in full sun, but the archery range is mostly under tree canopy.
***Accessibility Notice (ADA): ***DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs is committed to providing inclusive and accessible programs. Reasonable accommodations may be available upon request.
