The environmentalist in me says no gag gifts — I seriously do not want a chia pet.

This event is social, and attendees are encouraged to make friendships, bond, have conversations, and have fun. It should go without saying that attempting to sell, market, or promote a business is unacceptable. If anyone tries to do so, they will be asked to desist. If they continue, they will be told to leave.

Game rules:

• Each participant brings a wrapped gift to the exchange. Gifts should be around $30-35.
• Participants draw numbers to determine the order of turns. The person with the lowest number goes first.
• The first person chooses a gift from the pile, opens it, and keeps it. On subsequent turns, players can either take an unopened gift or “steal” an opened gift from someone else. A gift can only be “stolen” 3 times. If a player's gift is “stolen”, they can either take a new gift or “steal” again. There are no “steal’ backs.
• The game ends when everyone has a gift. The first player can choose to swap their gift after the last number has been called.
