Hacktoberfest: Scrollodex Hack Night

Let's Build an Open Source Scrollodex!

If you participated in Hacktoberfest 2021, we will be working on the same project, adding new features, and "spook-ifying" it. 🎃

Scrollodex is an open source frontend project created by wwcodecolorado in order to bring the community together, build something awesome, and spend some time hacking! Based on the classic rolodex or a business card pin wall, it aims to be a fun place for women who code members to add and display a business card. During this meetup, we will go over the project AND you will have time to actually contribute!! We will have volunteers to help with setup up and any technical questions.

• Build something together and share it with the world
• Participate in Hacktoberfest
• Have an opportunity to learn/ experience:
  - Contributing to open source
  - Modern web development practices
  - React /Javascript
  - CSS/ SCSS

Participants/ attendees are welcome to work on any other open-source projects of their choosing. Let us know what other projects you are excited about and share what others might want to look to contribute to this year!

How to best prepare for this meetup :

• Install node 16+ and yarn on your local machine

🎉 What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest, in its 9th year, is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean. During the month of October, we invite you to join open-source software enthusiasts, beginners, and the developer community by contributing to open-source projects. The first 40,000 participants (maintainers and contributors) who complete Hacktoberfest can elect to receive one of two prizes: a tree planted in their name, or the Hacktoberfest 2022 t-shirt. To complete Hacktoberfest all you need to do is have 4 pull/merge requests accepted between October 1 and October 31.
