[Online] 🧶 Craft-n-Crush Your Coding Interview 🧑‍💻 {BYO Craft Supplies}

Details

✨ Join Women Who Code (WWCode) East Bay online as we craft-n-crush our coding interviews. We’ll be taking crafting breaks in between trying out coding interview problems.

Not sure what craft to bring? Any creative outlet counts, be it a coloring book from your favorite TV show, that scarf you’ve been knitting for 5 years, or poems on the back of your fast food receipt. No judgment.

Need to practice for a coding interview? ✍🏾 Any company that hires for technical roles (e.g. software engineers, data analysts) may use coding interviews. You may be sent a timed 30 minute quiz, or you may need to solve a problem in real-time with your interviewer on a video call.

Example coding interview question from LeetCode: Given an array of integers nums and an integer target, return indices of the two numbers such that they add up to target.

How am I going to craft and code at the same time? We’ll be taking crafting breaks in between trying out coding interview problems. The format we’ll be trying out is:

✍🏾 Part A (~15 minutes): try to solve the given problem on your own
🧑‍💻 Part B (~15 minutes): watch the video solution together with other attendees, time to ask questions and review our approach
🧶 Part C (~15 minutes): crafting together, open conversation / networking / music

Repeat ✍🏾, 🧑‍💻, 🧶 until time’s up.

✅ Why you should attend:

  • Relax and reduce anxiety by practicing a creative hobby
  • Make new friends
  • Improve your coding interview skills
  • Build your network of technologists in the East Bay and beyond

🎵 Feel free to comment below with song / playlist suggestions for the crafting portion.
