Happy New Year, Women Who Coders!

Have you always had the desire to learn Javascript? Do you have an interest in dedicating some time to practicing your technical skills?

If you're new to coding or interested in trying to learn how to build a game in Javascript, Women Who Code will be offering a virtual workshop, led by Techtonica's Technical Program Manager, Cristina Rodríguez.

Before changing her career, Cristina had over 12 years of experience in communications, managing strategies and contacts with the press for big companies and developing public events. In 2017 she decided to change her path from communications to software engineering. And in 2018, she decided to focus her career on mobile development. Cristina likes the problem-solving aspect of being a software engineer. She enjoys using all her research skills to find the answer to any new challenge in developing a project.

Techtonica is a non-profit organization that helps women and non-binary adults with low incomes overcome barriers to tech careers. They offer free training, stipends, laptops, personal mentors, and job placements to our participants. They started in the Bay Area and are now completely remote, which allows them to support many more people in their tech journey! They offer a full-stack program on Javascript, so our participants will learn Node.js in the BackEnd, React.js in the FrontEnd, and Postgres as databases - it’s usually described as the PERN stack.

This event will be held remotely via Zoom. When you RSVP, the Zoom link will be available on this meetup page. Individuals who are on the waitlist will not see the zoom link.
