Furthering Women in Data: Empowering Diversity in Tech and Analytics

Join us for an empowering and insightful panel discussion presented by Women Who Code in collaboration with the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University and their Women in Tech club.

In today's rapidly evolving tech landscape, diversity and inclusion are essential components for driving innovation and progress. This event aims to explore strategies for supporting and advancing women in data and tech professions, while addressing the imperative to close the gender data gap and ensure equitable representation of women and minorities in the field.

Our panelists bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table:
* Polly Conrad - Educator, mentor, and leader in the Data Analytics and Information Systems Department in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. In her multifaceted role, she serves in key leadership positions within USU's Analytics Solutions Center (ASC), where she previously served as the Director of Operations and she now serves as the Director of Student Affairs.
* Christopher Corcoran - Chris Corcoran is the Department Head for Data Analytics + Information Systems and the inaugural David B. Haight Professor of Analytics in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Dr. Corcoran has extensive experience as a senior statistician with large biomedical and public health studies of complex outcomes, and was recognized as the College of Science Faculty Researcher of the Year in 2012. Under Dr. Corcoran’s leadership, the Department of Data Analytics + Information Systems has developed undergraduate and master’s tracks to accelerate the rapidly expanding professional opportunities for students in data and tech.
* Abby Jensen - Previous Scholar of the Year and master's student, Abby has a passion for analyzing facts and data from the past to find new, effective ways to improve the future. She aspires to be a data analyst and scientist and hopes to better the world through data.
* Katie Corcoran - As a USU alumnus, Software Engineer, and active member of Women Who Code, Katie is very excited to participate in this event alongside such wonderful panelists. Katie is passionate about empowering women to excel in technology roles, and aims to inspire and empower the next generation of female technologists.
