🗓️ About This Event: Open Protocols Workshop: Unlocking Music Sharing
Block’s growing ecosystem of businesses and initiatives — our building blocks — are united by a shared purpose of economic empowerment. We are building innovative solutions, from supporting thriving artists in their passion for music with our global music platform (TIDAL) to making the decentralized financial world accessible for everyone (TBD and Bitcoin Hardware).

Join our ongoing conversation with Block regarding how technologists can impact diverse industries with a 90-minute hands-on workshop moderated by Erin Stanfill, Womeng Chair for Block, and Engineering Manager for Square’s Refunds API team.

In this lab, you'll build a playlist app using Web5 technologies. You’ll learn about open protocols and how to define one you can use in your app. You'll build a playlist app using the Web5 SDK and Tidal API Beta to demonstrate an open protocol in action. Your app should let you assemble a playlist that you can truly own without being locked into the app. That means you can take your playlist with you to any other app that's using the same open protocol and always have access to the same list of favorite tracks. The Web5 SDK does most of the heavy lifting in order to make this possible, and you'll learn how to leverage it to your benefit.

Why you should attend:

  • Combine your love of music with your love of tech and level up your dev skills!
  • Connect and network with other members of the WWCode community.
  • Hear about opportunities to work with Block.

Meet the speakers:

  • Kirah Sapong - Senior Frontend Open-Source Engineer, TBD
  • Clara Rendé - Senior Software Engineer (Backend), TIDAL
  • Moderated by Erin Stanfill - Engineering Manager, Refunds API, Square
