What if you could experience the healing energy of Hawaiian culture and make a difference?

You're invited to join us for a truly special event that is intended to be an evening of connection, self-discovery, and pure aloha spirit!

As sensitive and empathic women, we understand the importance of nurturing ourselves, so this is an opportunity to participate in an evening that includes movement (hula), music, and nourishing food. In addition, we'll be gathering together as a community to support those in need after the recent fires in Maui.

Here's what to expect:

  • Welcome and Introductions
  • Experience the healing energy and heart-based culture of Hawaii through movement and music: Guided by musician, body-based vocal coach and former resident of Hawaii, Maria Forlenza, we'll learn about the importance of the moon's phases to Hawaiians, and participate in a Hawaiian hula (just a few steps) and a Mahina (moon) song to celebrate the Harvest New Moon, followed by a seated hula (hand motions) while we play a song of gratitude for nature's gifts.
  • Self-Discovery Session: Connecting us to our breath and voices, Maria will get us into the flow so that mind-body coach, Kelly C. Mullen, can then guide us in an opportunity to tune into a helpful message from our inner wisdom. By recognizing what we need to care for ourselves, we can find balance amidst our empathic sensitivities, and navigate change and challenging times in an empowered way.
  • Potluck Dinner: Food has a magical way of bringing people together. Bring a dish with a Hawaiian flair, or anything else that you'd like to share (You can share what you plan to bring in the comments). An Hibiscus iced tea and a few non-alcoholic drinks will be provided, as well as plates, napkins and silverware).
  • Build Your Community (Ohana): To close, we'll sing and dance to "Aloha 'Oe" (Farewell to You) - a famous Hawaiian song written by Queen Lili'uokalani, the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Hawai'i; however, you are encouraged to continue to connect with participants and spread the feeling/sense of ohana.

RSVP to this invitation (you will be asked for an e-mail via DM so we can send a confirmation with details). Your participation is free, though we ask that you bring a dish to share, and we'd love it if a $20+ donation (or whatever feels good to you!) can be applied to https://womensfundhawaii.org/donate/ to support the relief efforts from the recent fires in Maui.

Please spread the word and invite your friends!
