---- This event is only for those who identify as women and gender minorities! Thank you! ----

Hi everyone,

Let's get together to socialize and write some Go!

This is a BYOD (bring your own device) event. If you don't have a laptop please email hello@womenwhogo.co.uk so we can provide you with one.

To speed up things make sure you have Go installed, instructions can be found here (https://github.com/WWGLondon/installfest).

We will be doing exercises from Martin's Czygan (@cvvfj (https://twitter.com/cvvfj)) awesome IO module (https://github.com/miku/exploreio). The aim of these exercises are to learn two important interfaces of the standard library in action: io.Reader and io.Writer. (https://golang.org/pkg/io/)
There are numerous implementations of these interfaces.

Martin is a developer at Liepzig University Library who has been working on search solutions (https://finc.info/de/) for libraries in Go.

Agenda

6:30 - 7:00 - food and networking
7:00 - 7:30 - lighting talks (speakers welcome/wanted <3)
7:30 - 9:00 - Explore IO with Golang

Lighting Talks

Rebekah Mercer will be talking about "Ethereum" a distributed virtual machine (of which there are several versions, one written entirely in Go!) to extend blockchains past trust-free monetary transfers to arbitrary functions being executed in a transparent and publicly verifiable way.
