Happy Birthday, Go! 🎈Pointers, Memory allocation, and the Garbage Collector
Details
This week we’re celebrating Go’s 12th birthday by getting together, for a discussion on Go pointers, stack and heap memory allocation, and the garbage collector. The discussion will be based around "Golang pointers explained, once and for all" — a short video by Academic Tutor and Go developer, Junmin Lee. We’ll be sharing our opinions, take-aways, personal experiences, and thoughts on the video and the overall topics.

Also, as another way to celebrate (and just for fun) — we’re inviting all attendees to share their best remake or birthday inspired version of the iconic Go Gopher. You can get creative with this and use any artistic medium or simply use this tool: https://gopherize.me.
So grab a beverage of your choosing, maybe some cake, and come join us as we celebrate 12 years of Go! 🥳
