Women Who L A F F Over 40

Hi,

I remember viewing my grandmother as a much older woman?

My grandmother would be wearing those granny night gowns all day with floral print, snaps down the front, two pockets with tissue in it, and reading glasses around her kneck. Oh, let's not forget the night cap and a pair of white calf hi socks with closed in toe slippers.

I thought my grandmother was in her 60s or 70s, which is not considered old at all these days, and we definitely have women at this age wearing a different kind of house gown that some call lounge wear. We fancy, huh? Only to discover later that she was in her 50s. What!?! I couldn't imagine dressing like that today. Let's not mention the thought of my grandparents doing the nasty. 😆

Do you remember in your teenage years or early 20s seeing your aunties or other older women singing sexy songs like 'Sexual Healing' by Marvin Gay and thinking to yourself - ewww? Later only to find out they were in their early 40s. SMH

They were taught to BE a certain way as a woman, and life was just different in many ways. I started in my 40s and after much self work to appreciate my grandmother as a woman in her 50s taking care of my mother and me going through menopause and other changes in her body.

These conversations over the next 6 months with you will focus on aging gracefully and living a full life. It will be a safe space to share and ask questions. Many ask me how I look like I am aging backward and full of energy at the age of 56. I must say partially genetics, but mostly the way I think about aging.

So, I want to share with you my tips, practices, and tools that I believe are helping me look and feel fabulous. I am a work in progress and would like for us to support each other on this journey and believe that the best is yet to come. ❤️
