What we’re about
Inspired by other Women Who Like Beer groups (in Melbourne, Tokyo, Split, and Porto), this is a social group for - you guessed it - women who like beer!
When traveling, I really missed my female friends and loved being able to catch up and make new friends in a relaxed setting - all the while drinking delicious beer. Now living in NYC, I thought it would be fun to start up a local group that meets fortnightly in different craft beer venues all over the city.

WWLB NYC By-Laws
- Profile photo: In order to join, you must have both your name and a clear photo of yourself uploaded onto your profile. (Obviously, first name only and/or nicknames are fine.)
- Our primary goal is to foster a safe community for everyone in every which way and we would love to get to know you as you, beers in hand!
- RSVPs: All events are first-come, first-serve. Please only RSVP to events that you can attend.
- For multi-stop events, the RSVP # will be set for any pre-reservation venues.
- Cancellations: If you can no longer make an event, just simply change your RSVP.
- If you need to cancel past the RSVP end time, please DM us ASAP so that we can make any necessary adjustments (e.g., reservations).
- Tardiness: If you’re running late, let us know ASAP so that we can do our best to include you.
- Alternatively, if you are joining us at a later point (e.g., crawls): please DM us before the event so that we can plan to include you.
- Waitlist: Meetup (not us) automatically moves the next waitlisted member to "Going” anytime an already “Going” member changes their RSVP to “Not going.”
- If you are waitlisted, please periodically check the event until its start time to see if you’ve been moved to the “Going” list.
- Alternatively, remove yourself from the waitlist if you no longer can attend.
- Event comms: Meetup autogenerates at least 2 emails for an event after we announce it - 6 days beforehand and 1 day before to those members signed up to attend.
- To not heavily inundate you all, we will communicate via email when needed.
- With that said, please have your email notifications enabled for this group. Any missed emails will be on you.
The bad news. What would warrant removal and/or ban from the group? (Please don't do these things.)
After one time:
- No-showing to any strict count event (especially w/ a waitlist) without any appropriate notice
- Showing up to any event that you were not able to get into
- Bringing any guests to any event when they are not allowed
Additionally:
- Serially RSVPing "Going" and canceling after the fact for any strict count events (case-by-case basis)
- Messaging either of us for special treatment to get on the “Going” list for strict count events
