What we’re about
Events by womenandcode.org
Guess what? Women&&Code is starting into the new year with our first conference and a series of developer meetups!
W&&C is all about software engineering, security, developer experience, AI and of course women in tech ❤
The events are an opportunity for our community to encounter cutting-edge ideas, discover new interests and showcase the talent of the incredible women* experts. Join us for an event filled with inspiring talks by exclusively female* speakers, an intentional move to amplify the often underrepresented brilliance of women in tech.
All meetups will be held in English and are female-only.
!!! The W&&C meetups are female*-only events (* FLINTA+ 🏳️🌈) !!!
On 18.6. we will have a deep dive into a very popular JavsScript / TypeScript framework Angular🔥 as part of our Women And Code Meetup series with these amazing speakers:
- First Talk by Monika Tercjak.
- Monika Tercjak is a frontend developer specializing in Angular — with a background in science and a habit of asking “how does this actually work?” She enjoys digging into code, exploring what’s behind it, and finding the simplest possible solutions to complex problems.
- Her talk "Getting the Signal: Modern Reactivity in Angular":
Since Angular 16, we can use signals to support application state management. But what exactly are signals? How can we use them? When (not) to use them? And are they here to replace RxJS — or just complement it? After a short crash course on what Angular is and how to get started, I’ll walk you through a small application to show typical usage patterns and compare signals to other common approaches. Whether you're into frontend or not, you'll get a glimpse into how modern reactivity is evolving in Angular. - Second talk by Niyati Rana and Julia Toifl
- Niyati Rana is a Senior Software Engineer at SQUER, with a passion for software development and design. She enjoys the process of creative building, whether it’s through coding or painting. Being able to share her creations with others is like icing on the cake.
- Julia Toifl is a Senior Software Engineer at SQUER with an eye for detail and a passion for uncovering hidden patterns. Whether she's debugging complex code or piecing together scattered requirements, she thrives on the thrill of solving problems-like a detective chasing clues.
- Their Talk "RxJS <3 Reactor: Unpacking the power of Reactivity in Java and Angular":
Angular’s RxJS and Java’s Reactor are both powerful libraries for handling reactivity, but why should we use them? In this talk, we will showcase the power of reactive systems, how it can help you design clean services and handle changes to your data. Expect practical insights into the strengths, limitations and best-fit use cases of reactivity as well as some hands-on demos. Perfect for frontend and backend developers alike, this talk will explore how you can get the most out of reactivity in Angular and Java.
Schedule:
17:30 doors open

🔔 How to get to the SQUER Office
Accessing directly from Core/Eingang C (this is Stiege 3), please ring at "SQUER" (scroll through screen) and take the elevator to the 6th floor (don't press the button "2" at the elevator, it was called automatically because you rang!).
Also, you can access Core C/Stairway 3 barrier-free via the main entrance at Julius-Tandler-Platz, on the 2nd floor/Core B/Stairway 2, where access through the Plaza to Core C is possible.
See you soon!
