Chelsea Gallery Hop

Our Tribeca Gallery Hop was a huge success, we had a showing of many many women from diverse backgrounds and age groups, some are life long New Yorkers, others just arrived last week! Now, let us do it again and conquer Chelsea! Join Women in the Arts as we spend a late morning and afternoon getting to know Chelsea Art Galleries -- the consistently cutting-edge icons of the art market.

We will visit galleries along the 10th and 11th avenue blocks ranging from 21 Street to 27 street. This art walk is not curated or scripted. It is an organic, informal experience designed to get you moving, exploring, having fun and interacting with your fellow art lovers and artists. After the art walk, many members will have lunch together.

Did you know that the gallery scene in Chelsea has been thriving since the early 50's ?! Yes,Chelsea is a cultural icon, it has one of the oldest, largest and most diverse art scenes in the entire world and is home of the very best in contemporary painting, sculpture, photography, installations and mixed media. While Tribeca boasts a total of around 50 galleries, Chelsea has over 200!
New galleries may be moving and expanding to different areas on NYC, but Chelsea art galleries are here to stay.
