About us

Calling all women+ who love art, culture and community! Women of Culture LA is a community for professional women who want to live more art-full, socially connected and culture-filled lives. It is a branch of the original NYC-based community (with over 4K members) designed to connect, empower and inspire women through meaningful engagement with the arts.

Although we started in LA in 2019 and have already hosted four LA-based events to date, we took a break during the pandemic. But we're now back and excited to help you experience the best of LA's rich art & culture scene, all while meeting fellow arts-minded Angelinos.

Sunday in Color: An Afternoon of Art & Conversation at The Beverly Hills Hotel

Join Women of Culture, CURA Art and Ackerman Studios on Sunday June 7th for a private, invitation-only afternoon of art, culture, and connection at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel.

This special Los Angeles gathering will feature a curator-led walk-through of Susan Vecsey and Yvonne Thomas: A Conversation on Color with The Beverly Hills Hotel curators Lily Ackerman of Ackerman Studios and Liza Shapiro of CURA Art. Presented by Berry Campbell Gallery in collaboration with CURA Art and Ackerman Studios, the exhibition brings together two extraordinary artists across generations in a striking exploration of color, abstraction, mood, and visual rhythm.

Blending Susan Vecsey’s luminous, meditative compositions inspired by landscape and light with Yvonne Thomas’ bold and expressive postwar abstractions, the exhibition creates a fascinating dialogue between contemporary and historic approaches to color and form. Guests will gain unique insight into the artistic vision behind the exhibition while experiencing the works in an intimate and conversational setting usually reserved only for hotel guests.

Following the tour, we’ll gather for drinks and bites on the hotel grounds — an elegant and timeless backdrop for meaningful conversation, new connections, and a quintessential Los Angeles afternoon.

Thoughtfully curated for women who love art, beauty, design, and intellectually enriching experiences, this event offers the perfect blend of cultural discovery and social connection.
