Art-full members are invited to start the day with a stylish brunch at the new Frenchette Bakery Cafe, where you’ll mingle with fellow art enthusiasts in a lively and welcoming setting.

Then, all are invited to step into the world of Amy Sherald: American Sublime at the Whitney Museum of American Art, a powerful exhibition that redefines American portraiture.

Sherald, best known for her official portrait of First Lady Michelle Obama, elevates the everyday through masterfully composed and richly symbolic paintings. Her subjects—Black Americans rendered in grayscale against vivid backdrops—exude quiet strength, individuality, and grace.

This intimate, guided tour offers an in-depth look at Sherald’s visual language, her influences from American Realism, and her mission to expand the representation of Black lives in the visual arts. From her deeply moving portrait of Breonna Taylor to her portraits of ordinary citizens depicted with reverence and imagination, Sherald's work invites reflection on identity, beauty, and cultural memory.

Whether you are a seasoned art patron or are discovering Sherald’s work for the first time, this experience will leave you feeling more connected to the arts, yourself and the Women of Culture community.

Inclusions: All tickets include entrance to the museum as well as the private, guided tour. Full experience tickets (for Art-full members only) also include 1 entree + 1 non-alcoholic beverage + tax/tip at brunch. Any additional food or drink needs to be paid by venmo or zelle directly to the event host.
