Make Waves at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade + Mediterranean Lunch

Art-full members are invited to join us Saturday, June 21st, 2025, when we’ll be taking Coney Island by storm at the 43rd Annual Mermaid Parade!

Inspired by the Coney Island Mardi Gras parades of old, the Mermaid Parade was transformed by its participants into a new kind of community celebration. By the late 1980s, it was at the top of every list of “must-do” things in New York, and is, without question, the official opening of summer in the city.

We’ll start the afternoon with a delicious Mediterranean lunch at Limon, overlooking the legendary Coney Island coast, before the fun begins.

While we’re not officially marching this year, costumes are highly encouraged! This is your chance to show off your best sea creature-inspired costume and be as loud and outrageous as possible. Nothing to wear? Join us the Saturday beforehand to make your very own flower crown to wear at the parade!

All tickets include 1 mezzo OR 1 regular salad (OR 1 alcoholic beverage) - plus tax/tip. All additional food/drink needs to be paid separately by zelle or venmo to the event host or by credit card to the restaurant.

• 12 PM: Lunch/drinks at Limon
  825 Surf Ave. near the W 8th St-NY Aquarium subway stop (F, Q)
• 1:00 PM: Parade begins!
• 3:00 PM: Option to head to the beach, board walk or Aquarium

• RSVPs on Meetup do NOT count as official registrations for this event, and the RSVP count on Meetup may not reflect the actual number of attendees. To attend, you must purchase a ticket, which guarantees your spot, regardless of whether you RSVP here.
