Wanderlust Women 50+ Active Hike & Bike Trips-Solo welcome!

Wanderlust Women is a community for women who want more from their travels — more connection, more adventure, and more meaning. We specialize in small-group, thoughtfully curated trips that blend active experiences, cultural immersion, and a supportive circle of women. These are the kinds of journeys where you challenge yourself, laugh a lot, feel completely taken care of, and come home with unforgettable memories and real friendships. Solo travelers are always welcome — we’ll match you with a roommate at no extra charge, or you can choose a private room.

Each year we aim to offer one scenic, culture-rich trip and one that’s a bit more active and challenging. This June we’re embarking on a Bike & Barge through Burgundy, riding e-bikes through countryside and charming villages, enjoying wine tastings along the way, and sailing the Yonne River at a relaxed pace. There is an optional 5-day Provence extension with lavender fields, hilltop villages, colorful markets, and more time to soak in the beauty of southern France. In September we journey through Croatia, exploring its stunning coastline, historical sites, and vibrant food culture, with an optional 4-day extension into dramatic Montenegro, known for its fjord-like inlets, medieval walled towns, and rugged mountain backdrops.

We love adding a few optional challenges along the way to our cultural trips— glacier hiking in Iceland, e-biking in Ireland, snorkeling in Kefalonia, Segways in Lisbon, kayaking in Interlaken, hiking the caldera in Santorini — something that nudges you outside your comfort zone, with new friends cheering you on. Our active trips have included trekking 50 km of the breathtaking Tour du Mont Blanc from Chamonix and hiking Scotland’s Great Glen Way, even summiting Ben Nevis — the highest peak in the UK. Days are spent exploring; evenings might mean relaxing in a pub or taverna. We’re there to experience it all and have fun doing it.

Most of our members are 50+, and many are based on the San Francisco Peninsula, though women join us from across the U.S. (and even Canada). We host online Zoom Meetups to introduce each trip and pre-travel gatherings so you can connect and get all the details before departure. Small groups, shared experiences, and genuine camaraderie — that’s what Wanderlust Women is all about.
