Hello!

This month, we're reading James by Percival Everett.

Winner of the National Book Award as well as the Pulitzer Prize, James is a retelling of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the perspective of Jim, a slave boy from the original book. Except in this version, he is incredibly well read. He communicates eloquently. And he calls himself James, not Jim. The story you thought you knew is about to change.

Beautifully written, funny, and unafraid of confronting heavy questions, James promises to be a rewarding read from an author we've enjoyed before.

See you all soon for our last event of the year!
