FRIDAY Fun Time Kayaking & Paddle Boarding at Chatfield Reservoir - Gravel Pond

Details

Hello Fun Ladies!!!

NOTE: After just hearing about the tragedy that happened at Chatfield Reservoir just yesterday (last Monday), I would highly recommend wearing your life jacket for the safety of all.

Let's meet in the water ready to ride our boats by 9:00 AM. We will meet in the water just a little north of where they rent (big trailer at the end of the parking lot). There, you will see some new nice big steps going into the water and a new sidewalk that goes into the water. Please arrive early so that you have enough time to get your vessel ready and in the water by 9:00. So rentals and non rentals will be pretty close together. Do put your vessels in the area by the rentals just not directly straight in front of the rentals**.**

When we begin we will start heading south towards the south end of the lake and then head to the north. So if you are running late just head south and we will connect then.

If you are renting: Rent from 9:00 am to 11:00am and be in your vessel by 9:00 am. Renting will include a life jacket, a paddle and your vessel and if needed you can rent a dry bag for your phone and/or your other "stuff". The quicker you reserve the better chance you have of getting a kayak. They have an endless amounts of paddle boards and a limited amounts of single Kayaks. They now have 4 single kayaks and 2 tandem kayaks. Please go to the sight by pressing the following link - 5280 Paddle Sports to reserve your kayak or paddle board if you need to rent. If they run out of kayaks you can rent a paddle board. You can also rent a tandem Kayak for two people which would also be cheaper per person than a single. If you have never kayaked before you will do great. Now, paddle boarding takes a little more skill but you could always just sit or kneel on it and I think you would be fine.

It is a good idea to bring a hat, sun screen, and maybe dress in layers. So bathing suits, shorts, fast dry tops and/or bottoms etc. or whatever you want to wear is fine.

Bottled water and snacks are also good ideas to bring and shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Dry bags and Phone dry bags are available to rent also.

Unless you have a yearly pass already, you will need a day pass which costs $10 (that is what is was last year, could be higher).

Do send me your cell number if you know I don't have it yet (then I will send you mine) and also let me know if you are renting or if you are bringing your own vessel and what vessel - Kayak or SUP (It will ask these questions when you RSVP). Thanks!!
