🦆 Thursday 3/19 🚴♂️ Biking & Birding 🦆 1:00-3:15, Blackrock Lake
Details
Let’s combine bike riding and birdwatching!!
This is an activity I attended through South Suburban Parks & Recreation, and apparently it’s very popular in Europe. It was a wonderful experience, so I thought I would offer it through our group this year.
This will be a gentle ride along the Platte River trail, starting at Blackrock Lake and riding north about 5 miles. We’ll stop frequently along the way to view birds, mostly waterfowl, in the ponds & river. You can bring binoculars and/or bird guides, or share mine.
We’ll meet at the 2nd parking lot (the largest of the three) on the road to Blackrock Lake. We’ll gather at 1:00 & start riding/viewing at 1:15. We’ll stay on the paved trail, except for a very short dirt part that leads to my favorite pond.
If you are not familiar with the road to Blackrock Lake, please let me know, and I will give you helpful directions and details.
Do send me your cell number if you have not done so yet and I will send you mine. Please call me if you have any questions.
