It’s that time of year again for one of the best Fairs in the Mountains: The Springwood Festiva. So I thought we could make a day of it.
We will begin with a walk through the Birdwood Gully Loop at Springwood Creek, then return for lunch and activities at the Festival. This is a terrific easy hike through lush rainforest in Springwood. This walk will entertain you with beautiful fern-filled gullies, attractive rock pools, caves and plenty of birdlife.
Then the Festival represents a huge day for the NSW Blue Mountains community to participate in the festival that celebrates the spirit of the town. Springwood's Festival has been running continuously for over 30 years.
The main road, Macquarie Road, is closed to traffic from 6 am to 6 pm, allowing pedestrians to enjoy over 130 food and market stalls, live entertainment including 3 main stages with 25+ performances on the day, street performers, and much, much more.

Fitness 🥾🏃🏻‍♀️:

• Easy difficulty (Grade 1) – 6klm walk from station around the loop and return. 😎🌳.
• Easy to follow trail and a small creek crossing.
• Approximately 1hr 30mins.
• We will take our time to enjoy the spectacular scenery.😊.

Transport:
Via public transport from Central Station🚂:

• 07.26am departing from Central Station, Platform 18 to Blacktown. Then swap to catch the 08.28am departing from Blacktown Station, Platform 6 to Springwood.
• 09.13am: arrive at Springwood Statio
• It is recommended to catch public transport, as the main street is closed for the Festival and parking may be difficult to find.

Meeting:

• 09.30am SHARP meet outside Springwood Station. 🚂

Route:

• 09.35am We will begin our 20min walk from Springwood Station, through the suburbs, to join the trail at Bednal Rd.
• We will then walk and enjoy the 2.4klm loop through the beautiful, lush Birdwood Gully.
• We will then return via Bednal Rd back to Springwood.
• We should arrive approximately 11.30am to 12pm. We will go and grab something to eat from the many food stalls, sit and enjoy our lunch together 🍧🍕🍹😍.

• You are welcome to join us as a group or partake in the festivities on your own. Plenty to see and do.
• Then when you are ready to depart, we are right next to Springwood Station.

What to bring:

• Good shoes for walking, preferably hiking boots as it can get muddy if raining.
• BYO snacks, water, weather-appropriate clothing. And lots of food and drinks will be available at the festival.
• There are only bathrooms and bubblers at Springwood Station.
