About us

This is a group for all women interested in expanding their scientific research skills, accessing opportunities for peer review/proofreading, shared book reading (i.e. the group includes an optional book/article club focused on research/metascience), and co-working at cafes and libraries.

The basic schedule for meetings will be:

  1. Discuss research reading we've been doing (independently and/or together).
  2. Discuss projects we're working on, including any hangups we need advice on and any new skills/tips we've gained.
  3. Request and complete editing/proofreading (optional, anyone can opt out).
  4. Co-work side by side for the remainder of the coffee outing.

A little about me to get acquainted: I (Kelsey, the organizer) recently completed a post-bacc psychology B.S. at WWU, and for the time being, I am independently expanding my research evaluation and research writing skills. I hope to work as a research analyst/writer, at least part time. Who knows whether I'll continue on to a master's or PhD, but I certainly want to equip myself to write better topical essays and literature reviews, and I also plan to learn data visualization.

I heartily welcome everyone regardless of education level. Wherever you are in your learning, we can all benefit from shared ideation, proofreading, book/article recommendations, protected time for co-working, et cetera.
