Create your own feather fan for smudging
Details
Join us for a hands-on, creative workshop where you will craft your own one-of-a-kind smudging fan—a traditional tool used to guide and waft sacred smoke during energy-clearing rituals. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a curious beginner, this session provides a meditative space to connect with natural elements and create a meaningful ally for your personal spiritual practice.
What You’ll Learn
- The Ritual of Smudging: Discover the ancient art of using herb smoke (like sage, cedar, or sweetgrass) to clear stagnant energy, promote clarity, and invite renewal into your space.
- Material Symbolism: Learn about the unique properties of different feathers. For instance, turkey feathers are often associated with grounding and abundance, while pheasant or goose feathers offer their own distinct energy.
- Crafting Techniques: Master the skills needed to bind multiple feathers securely. We will cover handle-wrapping using string and leather or suede and glue, and adding personalized embellishments such as crystals and charms.
What’s Included
- A curated selection of high-quality feathers.
- All structural and decorative materials: leather cord, sinew, wooden dowels or handles, and glue.
- Embellishments: Crystals, beads, or copper wire to infuse your fan with personal intention.
What to Bring
While all materials are provided, we encourage you to bring any special items such as a small wooden branch ( 1" - 1 1/2" in diameter and about 4-6" in length), your favorite crystal(s), found feathers, or charm(s) that hold personal significance.
This class is limited to 10, so reserve your spot today and prepare for an evening of mindful creation and spiritual connection. We will be charging $25 each to cover the cost of the venue and materials.
