Free Creative Care Summit: Reimagining Well-being Through Social Prescribing

Details

Thank you Christine for letting me share this wonderful event with your community! I’m Clarissa and host of this week’s Creative Care Summit. Let me share some numbers that stopped me in my tracks:

✨ Just 120 minutes per week in nature shows measurable improvements in both physical and mental health
77% of people who volunteer report reduced anxiety and better overall wellbeing
45 minutes of creative activity can significantly decrease stress hormones
✨ Art therapy shows clinical improvements in emotional regulation and trauma processing

As someone with both a healthcare background and a personal healing story, these aren’t just statistics to me, they’re validation of what I experienced firsthand when watercolor became my lifeline during my spasmodic dysphonia journey.

This is the evidence base behind social prescribing: when healthcare providers prescribe creativity, nature connection, movement, and community engagement alongside (or sometimes instead of) traditional treatments.

It’s already transforming healthcare in the UK. Now it’s time to bring it here.

That’s exactly what we’re exploring in Creative Care: Reimagining Well-being Through Social Prescribing (September 22-26). Here’s the agenda:

DAY 1: Rethinking Health – What Is Social Prescribing?
Focus: Define the concept. Why now? Why it matters.

DAY 2: Creative Expression as a Prescription for Healing
Focus: Therapeutic art practices, visual journaling, music, writing, and self-expression as medicine

DAY 3: Movement, Embodiment, Nature
Focus: The healing power of movement and nature

DAY 4: Service and Belonging
Focus: Social connection, volunteering, green prescriptions, and community care

DAY 5: From Prescription to Practice – What’s Next?
Focus: Implementation, inspiration, integration

Plus, you’ll experience it yourself through interactive sessions including my “Healing Flow of Color” watercolor practice. (Day 2)

The research is clear. The results are documented. The movement is growing.

The question is: will you be part of it?
