[Online] Friendly Cyber Security CMD+CTRL Tournament!
Details
Join us as we learn about computer security concepts in a fun gamified tournament!! You will be attacking a purposely vulnerable banking site – ShadowBank. You will find and exploit vulnerabilities, score points, collaborate and compete with fellow participants to move up the leaderboard.
Here are some things to help you get started:
Set up your CMD+CTRL Account
Sign up here to participate in the event: https://web.securityinnovation.com/wwc-sandiego
Join the Kick-off Meeting
At the event start time we will do a brief introduction to the CMD+CTRL Cyber Range, go over basic guidelines, and share some tips to get you started. Throughout the day we will use this meeting to conduct short training labs on specific topics, answer general questions and share periodic hints.
Reach out on Chat
You will see a round black chat icon in the lower right-hand corner of the homepage once you set up your account. This is where you can ask questions. Let us know if you need any help during the event, if you aren’t sure where to start, need a hint or if you think found a vulnerability that you did not receive points for. We want you to score and are here to help, we don’t know you’re struggling unless you reach out.
Before the Event...
Check your network by visiting this link – if anything fails, troubleshoot by first making sure the site was using HTTP, disable any extensions, try on/off VPN, connect to a different network, try from an other device, allowlist “*.vulnerablesites.net” if you have software that might be blocking it. If you aren’t able to pass but you only fail a few tests, come and play anyway because there are plenty of challenges you will still be able to complete.
Location:
Online! The Zoom link will be visible when you RSVP.
