"By What Standard?" is a book written by Christian theologian RJ Rushdoony, essentially challenging the reader to examine by what standard they live their life. In a bit of a twist on the title, let's ask "By What Authority?"

An authority is that which has the right to make demands of us. We understand different levels of authority, from parents to governments. But is there an ultimate authority to whom/what we submit?

How do you determine who or what has ultimate authority over you to make demands of how you are to live?
