All first-time attendees get their first drink on me!

Is the Bible full of contradictions? That depends on how you define "contradiction". For this meetup, I encourage people to come prepared to share what they see as contradictions so we can see if the Bible truly is full of them.

Keep the following in mind:
Contradiction - In logic, the law of non-contradiction states that something cannot be A and not-A at the same time and in the same way. Or, a statement and its negation are asserted simultaneously. So, for there to be a contradiction in the Bible, it would have to say something like "Jesus died on the cross" and "Jesus did not die on the cross".

Paradox - paradox is a statement, situation, or argument that appears self-contradictory, absurd, or contrary to common sense/intuition — but which may actually be true, or which reveals a deeper issue in our reasoning or definitions. For example, Jesus says that anyone who seeks to save their life will lose it, but anyone who loses their life for His sake will find it.

Hard saying - Something that the Bible says that is either hard to accept (Jesus says to follow Him you must hate your mother and father), or a hard truth to understand (that you must eat the flesh of the Son of Man).

For this event, we'll focus only on what seem to be actual contradictions that seem to violate the law of non-contradiction.

Additionally, we might also get into why different Christian faiths hold to different teachings they claim are Biblical. For example, why some don't drink alcohol, and why some do.
