Glamping Lakeside Camp Getaway - Haliburton Highlands

Details

Nestled in the Haliburton Highlands is a peaceful lakeside camp with glamping accommodations, water activities, fireflies, and plenty of room to enjoy nature, stargaze, and have fun with new friends around a campfire.

There is space for up to 25 people on this trip in various types of glamping sleeping quarters, some more rustic, others more cozy. Must be willing to share a space with at least 2 other people for this trip (or couples can pay a little more and get their own space).

Organizer will coordinate all sleeping arrangements so people are comfortable, as well as all carpool. In addition, they will organize some of the food plans with flexibility according to people's preferences.

*Options for sleeping will be first-come first served based on who pays first. 12 spots on this trip will be reserved for people who have never been on a WOOT trip.

Activities: we'll do an eclectic mix of activities: kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle board, paddle boating, swim, go on short hikes, stargaze (the skies should be great for viewing), have a bonfire, tell stories, play boardgames, play outdoor games, listen to music, relax, enjoy nature, sip wine and other refreshments, and enjoy good food together and more! We are going to have so much fun. Most of these activities are available right out our front doors!

Depart Friday after work around 5pm by carpooling and return on Monday. That's 3 nights, and about 2.5 days. We will have various carpool departure spots and times.

Accommodation: We will have a mix of accommodation for this trip, with different prices for each. We will have up to 25 people or more going on this trip but it won't feel like a crowd. We are a friendly group and you will feel part of the group in no time if you don't know anyone!

About RSVPs: Must provide your phone number so the organizer can contact you. Prompt response required or you will be moved to the bottom of the list. Everyone goes to wait list to start. No one is confirmed attendance until payment is received and the organizer has spoken to you. Payment secures your spot.

Everybody must answer both RSVP questions to be moved to the GOING list, which you should see when you sign up for the event (everyone goes to the waitlist first):
(1) What is your cell number? (this is private - only the organizer sees this info)
(2) What are your transportation preferences:
A. Passenger at carpool
B. Driver at carpool (I have my own car) for x passengers - do not say "B" unless you own your own car
C. Prefer to be passenger, but driver at carpool for x passengers if needed

About the Camp: The place we are staying used to be a camp, and there are various facilities available. There are kayak, canoe and paddleboat rentals, a tuck shop to buy amenities if you left something at home. They have washroom/shower facilities, outdoor kitchens that are shared with other campers. There are bbqs and firepits for us to use also. This weekend as a cross between cottaging and camping! With the best of both worlds.
