About us
Worcester Humanists brings non-religious people together to be happier and more fulfilled and to be a force for good in our community.
Humanists are people who shape their own lives in the here and now, because we believe it’s the only life we have. We make sense of the world through logic, reason, and evidence, and always seek to treat those around us with warmth, understanding, and respect.

Book Club: "We Need New Stories" by Nesrine Malik
Unison, 30 Love's Grove, Worcester, GBBOOK TO READ: We Need New Stories, by Nesrine Malik
PLEASE REGISTER ON OUR MAIN WEBSITE.
(You are encouraged to RSVP on this Meetup, however the Humanists UK event page above allows us to limit registration to the capacity of the room, so in the unlikely event that we are oversubscribed, we will use that official registration page to prioritise access on the day.)
From the blurb to We Need New Stories:
"It is becoming clear that the old frames of reference are not working, that the narratives used for decades to stave off progressive causes are being exposed as falsehoods. Six myths have taken hold, ones which are at odds with our lived experience and in urgent need of revision."This book is wide-ranging and non-fiction, so if you discover this Event late or otherwise cannot read the book in time, you may still be able to take part in the discussion.
The book is only £2.99 on most e-book platforms and widely available in paperback including second-hand websites. An audio book is available.
