Wordier Than Thou organizes events for writers and book lovers throughout West and Central Florida. Events include storytelling and fiction open mics, themed author readings, workshops and other fun, inspiring literary events. Our goal is to connect the literary community and provide a resource for local writers.

Meet The Chandelier Queer at Gulfport Art in the Yard
The Chandelier Queer at Art in the Yard, 2913 53rd Street S, Gulfport, FL, USMeet Jodi Adams, who creates colorful light fixtures under the name The Chandelier Queer, during Gulfport’s Art in the Yard on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jodi, a former school librarian, has become a big part of the Wordier/This Bookstore Kills Fascist team (of now two).
She also upcycles vintage chandeliers. She breathes new life into these gorgeous pieces by reimagining them with bold rainbow colors. (And she can do any color scheme you’d like!)
Jodi will have her work on display and available to purchase during GulfportSaturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 2913 53rd Street, Gulfport. Stop by, say hello, and I’m sure she’ll also be happy to talk to you about her favorite books and upcoming events.

Please note this is a daylong tour throughout the city of Gulfport and other artists will also be showcasing their works at their own homes. There are no set activities at this space. Just pop by, check out the work and chat with the artist!

The Underground Book Fair at the Jack Kerouac House
Jack Kerouac House of St. Petersburg, 5169 10th Avenue North, Saint Petersburg, FL, USMeet and shop with local authors, booksellers, vinyl and collectible pop-up shops, artists, organizations and more while hanging out in Jack Kerouac's St. Petersburg home.
Authors will read from and discuss their works, and shops will talk about what they do. Drinks will be available for a donation.
Entry is a suggested donation of $5, which goes to the Kerouac House, a local nonprofit.
Vendors can register online here.
Cost is $10 per author and $25 per pop-up shop. There is a limited space for vendors.
$10 vendor spaces allow you to bring an up to 6-foot-long table. Authors will be set up indoors or out.
$25 pop-up shop spaces allow a seller to set up in either one of the smaller rooms of the home or split one of the larger rooms.
No refunds.
