Join us for a short presentation from Sally Thoun, Head of Partnerships and Sales at AAAtraq, on how her journey learning WordPress and Accessibility followed by a guided community discussion of tips and resources for learning accessibility.

Talk description:
Many people don’t know where to start learning with Accessibility. This talk is about my first-year journey on how I started to learn about WordPress and Accessibility. I’ll share my experiences to inspire the same purpose and passion that the selfless WordPress and Accessibility community has inspired in me! I’ll provide many tips and resources to help you start your own path to help make the web accessible and inclusive for all.

About the Speaker:
Several years ago, Sally Thoun moved into digital marketing after a long career in broadcast entertainment in Sales & Marketing. She now works with [AAAtraq.com](https://aaatraq.com/) to help businesses protect themselves from unscrupulous Accessibility lawsuits, while concurrently running SA11Y Gurl Digital Marketing.

Over the past 18 months, she has been studying Accessibility, which has been on her heart for a few years. Sally feels privileged to help make the web more inclusive and is grateful to all the Accessibility advocates leading the way.

Born and raised in Montréal, Québec, Canada, Sally has lived in Ottawa & Toronto, Ontario, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and White Rock, British Columbia, before moving to Los Angeles. She loves to cook, volunteer, do puzzles and spoil her dog, Cleo (& Patra RIP), and her new 80-pound family member who she rescued just before Christmas – Emma Noel, when not a digital and Accessibility sponge.
