GAAD Panel Discussion: Accessible User Experiences

Join us at our Global Accessibility Awareness Day panel discussion where our panelists will discuss their experiences using the web while giving feedback and insights into what they wish designers and developers knew when building websites to make them more accessible for everyone.

About the Panelists:
Mark McGuire, Digital Accessibility Consultant at Great Accessibility Online, identifies himself as a culturally Deaf person. He is searching the world for the answer to his question, where are all the deaf and hard of hearing people? Along the way, he found his purpose as an advocate for disability inclusion. Through his work as a Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), he assist organizations in solving their digital accessibility needs.

Alicia Jarvis, Senior Product Manager, Accessibility Portfolio at Bell, enables and empowers teams while solving problems at the intersection where business goals, human needs, and technology meet. In her spare time, you'll find her on the Board of Directors for Access 2 Accessibility, and engaging with the accessibility and design communities; as well as, taking on passion projects like the A11y Project.

Devin Gutierrez is a 23-year-old powerhouse singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocal coach, and disability rights activist based in Austin, Texas. He is on the Autism Spectrum and was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia which caused his blindness. He has worked as a website accessibility tester for county voting websites in the State of Texas and assisted the Autism Society of Texas to create a video to train employers on best accommodating the needs of autistic individuals in the workplace.
