Images and photos can be a major performance hit on websites and can be tricky to implement right, even using WordPress. This talk introduces some of the challenges with images on the web, what an Image CDN is, and how anyone from editor to bespoke developer can use an Image CDN to improve the performance and development of WordPress sites

Alistair Shepherd is a Front End developer based in Edinburgh working for creative agency SeriesEight. He specialises in front end performance, accessibility and WordPress/Craft CMS, and in his experience in web development agencies has worked on and built more websites than he can count. In the past year he has got into technical writing and speaking at meetups and conferences about web performance and images.
