WordPress Norwich Meetup - March 2024: "What's New in WordPress 6.5"
Details
TOPIC: "What's New in WordPress 6.5"
This is an in-person event held at No.8 Thorpe Road (The Red Cat Partnership), Norwich, NR1 1RY.
We are also trying a new, hybrid approach: the event will be streamed to online attendees via YouTube and we will also try to make the recording available after. If you RSVP, please look out for a private link around the start time of the event - we will try to email the link to everyone who RSVP'd and this will work to view the recording.
WordPress 6.5 is due out at the end of March with a host of new features. We'll be installing the latest release candidate (RC) version prior to launch and taking a look together. Some highlights include:
- Adding fonts to your theme using the new Font Library
- Drop Shadow effects and overlay colours
- Custom fields for blocks
- Renaming blocks in the list view to keep track of your content structure
- The Interactivity API
Adding fonts locally through the dashboard is a big win for being able to customise your site easily and the Interactivity API could be a game-changer for front-end developers, so there's plenty to explore.
This session is suitable for all WordPress users and will cover a range of use-cases. It will touch on general site management as well as some aspects of WordPress development.
Schedule
- WordPress news - what's been happening with WordPress since our last meetup.
- TOPIC: "What's New in WordPress 6.5".
New members and beginners are more than welcome!
If you have RSVP'd 'Yes' and realise you won't be able to make it, please RSVP 'No' as soon as you can.
We will cancel if there are fewer than 3 people down to attend on the morning of the event and will make sure emails are sent to keep you updated.
