Contribute With Me: Build a WordPress Lesson Plan Together

Have you ever wanted to contribute to WordPress, but weren't sure how to get started?

Do you know something fascinating about WordPress, and want to empower others to be able to teach it?

Are you a member of the WordPress Community's Training team and want to practice building lesson plans?

If so, please join us in this social learning space!

Former middle school teacher and current Training team contributor Sarah Snow will walk us through the creation of a Training team lesson plan from start to finish, and we will learn together how to contribute lesson plans to the Training Team.

In this space, you will learn...

• How to pick a high-impact lesson plan topic (or submit one for review)
• The various ways lesson plans can be used (yes, even by you!)
• How to write strong learning objectives
• How to think like an instructional designer as we build a lesson plan together
• What the next steps are once a lesson plan has been drafted

By the end of the first hour, we will have a completed lesson plan draft and outline. We may need more time to fully script the lesson plan, but the key components will be completed and if all goes well, the completed draft will be ready for review by the next Training team meeting.

But wait! Isn't this learning space scheduled for two hours?
Yes! We value your time.

Staying for the second hour is optional, but will allow you time and space to pick a topic (or work on an existing topic), design learning objectives of your own, and create space for you to work with Sarah and other learners like yourselves to create meaningful lesson plans for the Training team.

This space is flexible. We may work on another topic together as a group, review together another lesson plan, separate into breakout rooms to work collaboratively on a lesson plan of your choice, or something entirely different. The choice will be ours to use in a way that we are most comfortable.
